K'Vin Soccer, Regular Season, Petunia vs. Lars

It was time for the third day  of Petunia’s run through the table. She had a few opponents left to play. The scoring was simple: each win got 2 points. Each loss took one point away from the total. There was no penalty or gain for a tie.

Petunia was 2-4-1, meaning she had won 2 games, lost 4, and tied once. She had a point total of 0. Each match was played in a best of 3 series. Thus, if you took 2 of 3, you got 4 points and the day was over.

Petunia was playing Lars, who was undefeated and untied. He had a total of 4 points thus far. The game was ready, the crowd was ready, as the K’vin, sorcerers of magic from long ago, began to play.

The 2-minute game got underway really slowly, but within the last minute, Lars’ team scored two goals and they won, 2-0. This was Petunia’s 5th loss off the season, giving her -1 points on the season. Lars improves to 3-0-0, giving him 6 points on the season.

The arena was reset over the course of the next few hours, and pretty soon they were able to play ball again. While the reset and various arena features were fixed, fans were able to listen to many news programs from the day.

The second game went into extra time. This time, Lars and his combination of extra goal spells against the goal prevailed, and Lars won, 4-0. This brought Petunia to 2-5-1 (-2) and Lars to 4-0-0 (8).

The next game would played at a later date and would feature Petunia taking on Bobby.

Mixed Combat, Wave 1 of 3: Pierre

It was time for Pierre’s turn on the first wave of competition. Pierre did not have much of a following. Additionally, he had finished near the bottom last year. Pierre stepped into do battle and Horace and George were doing color commentary, as they went, the first time they had done so.

Horace: Hello and welcome!

George: This is our first color commentary, so please be forgiving.

Horace: And let’s begin.

George: The first opponent of Pierre’s for today is my namesake, the power-player George!

Horace: Here’s a few quick jabs, and now the knockout punch! George is out!

George: Quick on time, but could have done a lot more damage!

Horace: The judges have awarded him 33,400 points!

George: And moving on, Pierre’s second opponent is the tag-team of Dirk and Degas.

Horace: And here they are climbing up the wall, and OH! Big Hit by Pierre and Dirk falls off the wall! One left!

George: And Degas missed a foothold and down he goes!

Horace: Score for that round: 32,800, bringing the total score to 66,200!

George: And moving on, Pierre’s next opponent is the quick-footed Peter. Peter is also wearing light armor today, so his attacks will hurt more and he’ll be able to absorb more hits!

Horace: And a quick series of rapid punches and flying kicks and down goes Peter!

George: The judges have awarded him 34,200!

Horace: Bringing his total to 100,400!

George: Next up is a barrage round.

Horace: A quick punch, now a kick! Followed by a nice sucker punch! A left, a right, here’s a diving attack! Pierre just lost his footing and there’s his first fall off the arena! There’s a throw and oof that hurts and the last one is head-butted!

George: The judges gave him 39,000 points! Great round!

Horace: That bring his to 139,400 overall!

George: And now it’s time for the obstacle course. A quick dive, a jump, there’s one target. Breaks the next! Now onto the third! Brilliant hit there, and he takes two more out with that move right there. Three more taken out with east as he hits the targets. One more, climbing up the wall...YES! He got it!

Horace: 10,500 on that one, making his overall score 149,900! We’ll be back after this news break!

------

George: And we are back! Tonight’s 5th opponent to enter the fray is a tag team of Mantado and Kyle.

Horace: And there goes Kyle thanks to a round house kick. Same move...and there goes Mantado! Brilliantly played by Pierre!

George: Let’s not forget, he did not do an awful lot of damage.

Horace: The judges awarded him 33,100 points, bringing him to 183,000!

George: And up next is a barrage round.

Horace: A round house kick here, there’s a throw, a wind-up punch there, two more throws, a round house kick, nice uppercut, two sweep kicks, and a strong jab and the ninjas are gone!

George: And the judges have awarded him 38,600!

Horace: And that is his highest total yet! His score is now 221,600!

George: And next entering the fray is Weasel!

Horace: Here’s some light jabs. Oh, and Weasel throws him to the ground! He didn’t fall off, so that’s fine. Some more light jabs. And now he brings the heavy stuff and with a head butt, Weasel falls off the stage!

George: He was awarded 36,800 points for his efforts!

Horace: Bringing his total to 258,400!

George: Entering the arena next is Paulina.

Horace: Paulina is wearing the heavy armor, so her attacks, though they pack a little extra sting, do not hurt nearly as badly as with the light armor, but she can definitely take a beating! And Pierre unleashes a barrage of light jabs and all of this is going to her Paulina! I think I just saw some of her armor fall off. She takes a step, teeters, and off she goes!

George: The judges have awarded...57,200 points!

Horace: THAT IS A RECORD for this wave! Way to go! His point total is now at 315,600.

George: The next opponent will be Paul wearing light armor.

Horace: And he will start again with a barrage of light punches. Here’s some stronger moves...jumps on his back...and Paul falls! Pierre grabs the edge of the stage and stays alive!

George: And the judges have awarded 57,2000! And Pierre does it again!

Horace: HE TIED THE RECORD ON THE NEXT ROUND! AMAZING! His point total is now at 37,800.

George: The next match before the break will be Samuel.

Horace: Here’s Pierre with a few hits, and Samuel knocks him flat with a nice punch! Pierre responds now by grabbing him and throwing him...and somehow Samuel stays on the platform! Here’s a flying kick! And off goes Samuel.

George: This is back to normal now, with 33,300.

Horace: He’s broken the 400,000 mark now at 406,100.

George: He will most likely crash the 500,000 mark this time!

Horace: And it is on to the obstacle course. Pierre smacks one target, throws a few objects, here’s the final target...yes!

George: He was awarded 25,000 points! The highest total yet for an obstacle course!

Horace: The total is 431,100. And we’ll be back after the break!

----

George: And so it comes to the final two rounds.

Horace: This round features Mike, Nick, and Fred. And here’s a roundhouse kick that knocks TWO of them out...and now Pierre is going to fall off of the stage! No, he grabs on and Fred can’t get back! All three have been defeated now.

George: The judges have awarded his lowest total yet, 31,900.

Horace: But that puts him at 463,000. It’ll all come down to this.

George: FINAL ROUND: Taken to the MAX!

Horace: Now entering is Max, the world-champion fighter that everyone needs to beat to get their score.

George: Again with those weak disorienting jabs, and Max is out!

Horace: The judges have spoken and the final score is 515,500!

George: Pierre needed to come up big, and he did!

Horace: From the Mixed Combat Arena everyone, good night!

MGN Flash: MBL Coach Draft

Lady Portia today stated that the coach draft will be behind closed doors to a select number of fans from here on out. The remainder of the draft will be broadcast in its entirety once all picks have been made.

PFL Play-in Bracket Semifinals: Beekeepers vs. Jewelers

It was time for the second semifinal matchup. This one featured the Beekeepers and the Jewelers. The winner here would get to move onto the finals and fight the Professors. More importantly, however, the winner here would either get immunity from being eliminated from the spotlit teams once the real playoffs started. (in the Jewelers’ case) or get to go into the spotlit teams for next year (the Beekeepers’ situation).

The game began with the Beekeepers kicking. Despite 4:13 taken off the clock, the Jewelers could not score! It was now time for the Beekeepers to take over. Their drive lasted until the next quarter.

In the second quarter, the Beekeepers kicked a 29-yard field goal, giving them a 3-0 lead as Matt capitalized on the missed field goal by the Jewelers.  The Jewelers would respond with a 1-run run by Collin and they took a 7-3 lead with under 2 minutes to go in the half! With under 10 seconds to go, the Beekeepers kick a field goal, making it 7-6 Jewelers.

The media was going crazy again, as usual, wondering what was going to give. It was a very hotly contested game, that was for sure!

The third quarter brought with it no scoring. The fans were on the edge of their seats and the media was talking about the closest game in the Professional Football League’s history! Finally, in the fourth quarter, the deadlock was broken! Two field goals later, the Beekeepers won, 12-7! The Beekeepers were going to make it into the spotlit teams for the first time in 4 years!

Mixed Combat, Wave 1 of 3, Degas

Today would be Degas going up against the various other players. Degas had finished in the bottom in the last year and was starting to lose fans. Could he rebound?

Horace: Let’s go round-by-round!

--Round 1--

George: Round 1 featured Linus.

Horace: He did okay, but more damage was needed to make a big splash!

George: I absolutely agree on that.

--Round 2--

Horace: Round 2 featured a robot Degas and Dirk!

George: Way too little damage scored.

Horace: Absolutely; that is going to cost him big time.

---Round 3---

George: Round 3 featured Lemayo.

Horace: Nice dispatch, but way too little damage again!

George: I absolutely agree on this one.

----Round 4----

Horace: This one featured a tag team of Luke and Nick.

George: This was the first time Degas actually made a lot of damage!

Horace: First round with everything (speed, damage) balanced out correctly.

George: Can he keep it up?

=Obstacle Course=

Horace: And Degas nailed it!

George: He absolutely did! Very quick time in clearing those targets.

Horace: The score thus far is 148,200. Can Degas get more?
George: I am not sure.

Horace: We’ll find out soon!

-----Round 5-----

George: This one featured Mantado with light armor up against Degas!

Horace: The damage was spectacular in this round!

George: Oh baby! He nailed it!

Horace: That’s 2 straight. Can he get more?

------Round 6------

George: This was a barrage round.

Horace: And again, he made the most of it! The most damage thus far!

George: Totally nailed it!

Horace: That’s 3 straight!

-------Round 7-------

George: This featured Frank.

Horace: Horrible round, really.

George: Nice speed, but beyond that, little damage.

Horace: The streak has ended.

--------Round 8--------

George: This was another barrage round.

Horace: Degas lit it up!

George: Way to go!

Horace: This was an awesome round indeed!

---------Round 9---------

George: This featured Paul.

Horace: Paul...just...well...on the first step he took, he stumbled backwards and fell off the platform.

George: That is going to hurt for Degas. Oy.

----------Round 10----------

Horace: Degas fell on this one.

George: But that damage was amazing!

Horace: Nice job by Degas overall, despite the fall.

George: Indeed!

==Obstacle Course==

Horace: He cleared it really quickly!

George: He did indeed!

Horace: WOW!

George: His score is 402,000 Even!

Horace: He could very well break the 500,000 mark!

George: Let’s find out!

-----------Round 11-----------
Horace: This Featured Ivan, Zekielle, and Warren.

George: You know, for the number of people out there, he didn’t do very much damage at all.

Horace: And that will hurt him in the long run!

George: Can he crash the 500,000 mark?! Only time will tell!

------------Round 12: Taken to the Max!------------

Horace: Degas dispatched Max with relative ease.

George: And here comes the tally! No! Fell just short with 488,100.
Horace: No 500,000 yet again.

George: From the Mixed Combat Arena, see you tomorrow!
