Mutant Hockey League, Fish, Game #46

There were 32 games to go before the end of the season. The rumor mill was in full force with fans claiming to "know" that Harry Bond was going to make a huge trade before the trade deadline in March (It was January 9th). Yet here the Fish were at 35-8-2, still down Trent, and sitting their starting goalie for a day, using Christomantum. The crowd was tense as the game began as the Fish took on the Wolves (25-14-6 ) away from home...

1st Period:

Tyler scored the Fish's first goal of the game at 2:50, his 23rd, to give them a 1-0 lead. At 4:55, Alexander scored for the Wolves, his 15h, tying the game at 1. Eric scored at 8:54, his 31st, to make it 2-1 Wolves. T.J. scored at 9:36, his 3rd, tying the game at 2. Ales scored at 10:04, his 13th, making it 3-2 Wolves. Overall, at the end of the period, the Fish took 18 shots and the Wolves took 19 shots.

At the intermission, the coach questioned his team's loyalty and made them all swear allegiance to him. He got them all fired up about how they were never going to play "like poop" again.

2nd Period:
Kyle scored the first goal of the period at 3:05, his 65th, making it 5-3 Wolves. Mike scored at 9:00, his 22nd,  making it 5-4 Wolves. At 9:35, Kyle scored again, his 66th, tying the game at 5! At 16:57, Blake was nailed with an interference call and the Wolves had the power play Alexander converted on the goal, clinching the hat trick with his 17th goal on the season, making it 8-6 Wolves. Shortly thereafter, Tuomo and Johan got into a fight. At the end of the period, the Fish took 14 shots and the Wolves took 19 shots.

At the intermission, Harry Bond was disappointed in their play, but encouraged all players, saying "The Best is Yet to Come."

In the third period, Kyle scored the first goal of the period and a hat trick, his 67th, at 2:28. At 3:09, Tyler got nailed for boarding. At 7:11, Blake scored, his 31st, tying the game at 8! Timeout was called by the Fish at this point.

The game ended with that score, 10-8, Wolves. As is our custom, no Stars will be reported in this column. Harry Bond had a press conference after the game. He was asked 3 questions:

1) "When is Trent coming back?"
Trent is already back and will resume play for the next game against the Squids.

2) "Is there a trade coming?"
Yes, yes there is a trade coming. You will find out about it in 3 days.

3) "Will T.J. remain with the team?"
Yes, he will.

The rumor mill was abuzz with what trade could be pulled off.
