January 4th, 2053. The event: Mixed Combat. The contestant: Kristobal. This was primarily a mantis dominated event. With their names too hard to pronounce at time by the human Mutanatian public, they all decided to adopt an English first name. This was Kristobal's turn at the time/skill trial.
Horace and George were there as the commentators. Every few rounds, the contestants took a break, so that would be when they commentated.
---End of Rounds 1-4.
Horace: Well, that was exciting! Kristobal had 4 knockouts, including on that climbing stage! Keep in mind, at this phase of the trials, it's all about knockouts in as fast a time as possible.
George: That's absolutely right. Let's go ahead and roll the highlight reel.
--Reel Rolls--
Horace: Don't forget, you get a time bonus for knockouts and points for strikes occurred. Let's do the round-by-round.
--Round 1--
Geoge: Well, Kristobal knocked out the power-player George with a nice uppercut there.
Horace: Absolutely, that was an awesome uppercut. The problem with this one, though, was he was a little too slow.
--Round 2--
George: Kristobal survives the two climbers, Dirk and Degas, when they slipped off the ladder there.
Horace: That is going to hurt him though because he was not able to inflict very many hits on them.
--Round 3--
George: Kristobal defeats the telepath, Nick, on this semi-fighting rink, semi-climbing stage.
Horace: This time, he took too long, and that's why it will take a lot out of his potential score.
--Round 4--
George: Nothing much other than your typical knockout.
Horace: Absolutely.
--Obstacle Course--
George: Then there was obstacle course bonus round. He did fairly well.
Horace: But remember, time is the major component of this one, as well as hitting all the switches in the course. He did decently, but could have done much better.
--Scoring--
George: Well, the judges have tallied up the score from the first third of this competition.
Horace: The score is, as follows: 145,200 points.
George: Keep in mind, the 500,000 mark is the magic number for those hoping to make it into the playoffs.
Horace: That's right. He needs to pick up his game. Keep in mind though: He has not been hit out of the rink once!
George: And that is absolutely what he needs to keep going if he's going to crash that 500,000 point mark!
Horace: With that settled, we'll take a break for our sponsors and then come back for the next third of the competition.

Horace: Once again, another exciting round.
George: Yes, indeed! Kristobal got knocked out twice!
Horace: Seems like he's not so invincible after all.
George: Nonetheless, he lost the bonus he could have gotten. Let's roll the highlight reel!
--Highlight Reel Rolls--
George: And now...it's time for the Round by Round.
---Round 5---
George: This was Kristobal and the Kristobal Robot--sometimes, the computer picks yourself to be a tag team partner, though why I do not know--vs. Kyle and Mantado. Kyle and Mantado were dispatched within 30 seconds.
Horace: You'd expect more from the former commissioner of the league, but nonetheless they went down hard. However, not a lot of damage was dealt by the "human" Kristobal, which will hurt him.
---Round 6--
George: This was our first barrage round, which sends multiple ninjas flying through the air at the contestant. He did decently, nothing to write home about.
Horace: Right, and let's not forget the barragers were using Chris's moves.
---Round 7--
George: This was the heavy armor round, in which the trialee's opponent gets to put on a suit of armor and deal massive damage while receiving little damage himself.
Horace: That's right. Today's armor-wearer was Brad.
George: And Brad put up quite a fight, knocking Kristobal once out of the allowed 5 before the penalty.
Horace: This is very important because Kristobal now loses the opportunity to win a point bonus at the end of the match. He fell off the moving platform, am I correct?
George: That is absolutely right. Moving on...
---Round 8--
Horace: This was a battle against a "naked," meaning no armor or padding whatsoever, Samuelle. All she wore was a jumpsuit.
George: Kristobal dispatched her with ease, though he took a bit more time, and the interferons--the part of the arena that interferes with our contestants--knocked her out and dealt the final blow.
Horace: This is going to be key because, if knockouts are factored in, then Kristobal lost that bonus.
George: Moving on...
--Round 9--
Horace: This was, again, a barrage round. This time, the barragers used Warren's moves.
George: And they scored a knockout on him.
Horace: That's correct. Kristobal just could not get back to the rink in time before the ref counted him down.
George: And that left... the bonus round.
Horace: Oy. The bonus round was an embarrassment for Kristobal, unable to knock out 4 targets, and falling off the wall he was climbing to hit the seventh, an instant disqualifier.
George: That is correct.
Horace: Well, the judges have tallying up the score. He now has 369,300. With 131,000 points left to go, can Kristobal break the barrier?
George: With two rounds left? I don't think so.
Horace: Neither do I, but we will find out who wins after the next sponsor/news break.
--Final Outcome--
Horace: Let's roll the highlight reel!
--Highlight Reel Rolls--
George: And take us through the final two rounds.
--Round 11--
Horace: This was the one against three round with Zekielle, Luke, and Frank against Kristobal.
George: He was heavy-hitting on this one.
Horace: But he was too slow, or so it seemed.
--Round 12: MC to the Max--
Horace: Finally, there was the Master of the arena, Max. He always takes on the challenger at the end. This time, it was a quick, 15-second match and Kristobal won.
George: That's right, making it one of the fastest knockouts in First Wave history.
Horace: The judges have totaled the final score, and Kristobal finishes with 469,200.
George: Even though it's high, this score might very well turn out to be one of the "on the bubble scores" depending on who else is left.
Horace: For now, from the Mantis Mixed Combat Arena, I'm Horace.
George: And I'm George. We hope to see you tomorrow! Good night everybody!
